Opening in 1995 in Anoka, MN, the practice quickly grew due to its expertise, compassion, and care for their patients.  Due to increase in demand, in 2006 the clinic was moved to a more convenient location in Coon Rapids, near Mercy Hospital. Today we continue to offer personal and expert care for all our patients.

Dr. Kelly Bier, DPM

Dr. Kelly Bier received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Iowa. She went on to receive her Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the Arizona College of Podiatric Medicine in sunny Glendale, AZ where she graduated with honors. She returned to her home state of Minnesota for surgical residency at Hennepin County Medical Center where she served as Chief Resident her final year. During residency, she honed her clinical and surgical skills treating patients of all ages with foot and ankle problems. Her practice is rooted in a commitment to patient-centered care, focusing on understanding each patient’s unique needs and lifestyle. She treats a wide range of conditions, including sports injuries, diabetic foot issues, and structural abnormalities. She spends her free time with family on the lake, supporting Minnesota’s national hockey teams, hiking, and caring for her orchid collection.

Dr. Nathan Lam, DPM

Dr. Nathan A. Lam offers expertise in foot and ankle care. Trained in forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle management, he offers both surgical and medical treatment of lower extremity pathology. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, Dr. Lam graduated from Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine of Rosalind Franklin University, North Chicago, IL. He continued his training as a resident at Mercy Hospital of Allina Health, Coon Rapids, MN, completing training in podiatric medicine and surgery with credentials in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery. Dr. Lam is qualified in podiatric surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and he’s currently on staff at local hospitals and surgery centers. Outside of work he enjoys spending as much time as he can with his family and friends enjoying movies, television, and sporting events. He continues to play and coach flag football and is an active participant and leader in Hmong Flag Football community. Dr. Christopher Neese, DPM

Dr. Christopher A. Neese received his undergraduate degree in Physics at Colorado State University. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. He did his surgical residency for Rearfoot and Ankle Reconstruction at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN. He is board qualified in forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle surgery and reconstruction. He is a lifelong learner from his mentor and father Dr. David Neese He is one of the attending staff surgeons at Mercy and Unity hospital. Along with being involved in the Lower limb wound clinic he is also the director of the Charcot Deformity Clinic (sponsored by Allina Health and Metropolitan Heart and Vascular Institute). His surgical specialties include: Limb deformity correction, Charcot reconstruction, Flatfoot correction, sports medicine, and trauma. Dr. Neese also has surgical privileges at North Metro Surgery Center in Blaine. In his spare time he loves to spend quality time with his wife and daughter, reading, golfing and running.

Dr. Allison Willkom, DPM

Dr. Allison Willkom is board qualified in Forefoot and Reconstructive Rearfoot & Ankle Surgery with the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. She received her undergraduate degree from Duke University, where she also competed as a scholarship Track & Cross-Country athlete. She then graduated as Valedictorian of her class from Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine before going on to complete her three-year surgical residency at Legacy Health in Portland, OR. At Legacy Health, she received comprehensive training in Reconstructive and Revision Foot & Ankle Surgery, Lower Extremity Trauma, Diabetic Limb Salvage, and Sports Medicine. In her third and final year, she served as Chief Resident of the Program.
As a working wife and mother, practicing physician, and former competitive athlete, Dr. Willkom appreciates the importance of healthy, functional, and pain-free feet throughout all walks of life. She recognizes the physical, mental, and emotional toll that injury and illness can take, and she therefore hopes to utilize her understanding of foot and ankle pathology to maximize prevention and to expedite patient healing. Ultimately, Dr. Willkom believes that patient understanding is the key and final element to success; she therefore strives to educate her patients on their conditions, enabling them to play an active role in their healthcare and ensuring that they feel comfortable and confident in their treatment plans.
Dr. Willkom is a proud Minnesota transplant. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband and two young daughters, running, trying new recipes, and rooting on her Duke Blue Devils!

Dr. Scott Saxe

Dr. Saxe completed his pre-medical training at Michigan State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in human physiology in 1994. He then moved on to medical school at the W.M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago where he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. Following his graduation from medical school in 1998, he did a 1- year internship at the Minneapolis VA Hospital and a 2-year surgical residency at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. Dr. Saxe is a Diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is currently an attending physician for Mercy's podiatric surgical residency program. Dr. Saxe was born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan. He currently resides in St. Michael with his wife and children. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and Michigan State athletics.

Dr. Jeffrey Mich

Dr. Jeffrey Mich

Dr. Jeffrey Mich has been a podiatric physician for 22 years, having received his degree as a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine in 1997. He has moved about the country several times while pursuing his education. Dr. Mich was born and raised in Waukesha, WI a suburb of Milwaukee. He then chose to attend college at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ. After completing his Bachelor of Science Degree there, he decided to further his education and moved to Des Moines, IA to attend Des Moines University. While there, he earned his DPM degree. After completion, he accepted a one year residency position at the Minneapolis-VAMC. This was then followed by a a two year podiatric surgical residency position at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids MN, training under Dr. David Neese, his long time mentor and friend. Dr. Mich is currently enjoying private practice at Family Foot and Ankle Clinic in Coon Rapids, and is actively involved as an attending physician in the teaching of new residents at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. Dr. Mich is Board Certified and a Diplomat of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Mich currently lives in Andover, with his wife Jamie and 6 children. As a family they have enjoyed many fantastic journeys together. He enjoys golf, home improvement projects, travel, and virtually all competitive sports; especially those related to the Green Bay Packers.
